I noticed Lena immediately on EG. However, she was not a very active member. I repeatedly looked at her profile for several months, only to be disappointed when each time it read she was “last active more than 30 days ago.” From the first time I saw her pictures and read over her interests and hobbies, I knew she was special. I asked myself, “Why can’t I meet a girl like this? She’s what I need in my life.” One afternoon in mid-November a feeling of pure excitement fell over me. Lena had recently checked her EG account. This was my shot. I talked myself into sending her a message. I justified it by convincing myself that since she had been on once she would have to get on again, therefore seeing my message and certainly responding back quickly. At least that’s what I hoped.
So after gathering up false courage, I needed to figure out what to say. I decided the truth was the best way to go. I introduced myself and let her know that her best feature was not her legs as she stated in her profile, but rather her radiant smile that made her almost seem to glow. I nervously waited out the next 24 hours, not sure what to expect when I signed back on my account. You can imagine my joy when I had a reply sitting in my inbox! Lena and I talked for several weeks through email. We eventually exchanged phone numbers. Finding out we had a lot in common we knew we had to meet in person. Me being from Ohio and her from New York, this would not be an easy task. I agreed to come see her. I bought a plane ticket and flew to see her in mid-December. It was an amazing weekend. Our first date was spent in New York City. Walking up and down the streets hand in hand, laughing and talking the whole way. We spent hours in Times Square. The intimacy was only increased by the holiday season and the buzz it created. When we said goodbye I knew the next time I would see her was too far away. We thought the next time wouldn’t be until the end of January, but I had other plans.
I drove to New York the night before New Year’s Eve to surprise Lena. I didn’t see her till after she got off work at 2 a.m., but it was well worth the wait. It was the most memorable NYE I’ve ever had, and fortunately for me it was just the beginning. Lena and I are still happily dating and getting more serious as the days pass. There have been marriage talks and to be honest, I can’t see my life without her. We are making the best out of a long distance relationship. It isn’t easy, but absolutely worth it. When we’re not together I am motivated by the thought of when I get to see her beautiful face again. When we are together you can find no happier person roaming the earth. EG has helped me find the girl of my dreams. Thanks to you we have wonderful memories, great stories to tell, and a lifetime ahead of us to reflect on them. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My name is Kalliopi (sokkergal15) and his name is Telly (taegetos). I saw him on eligible greeks four years ago and sent the first flirt. We talked for one month and then met in person. We have had a wonderful relationship and he proposed after 2 years of dating on a lighthouse in wisconsin. We were married in Spetses Greece on 5/28/11 and are so happy that we found each other. Thank you eligible greeks for helping us connect, we would never have met each other if it were not for your site!

On October 8th, 2009 I flirted with Jimmy and the rest is history! After almost giving up hope on finding a soulmate, I decided to give it one more shot. I am so glad I joined Eligible Greeks because I found the love of my life. 9 days later on October 17, 2009 we had our first date at Maggianos in Oak Brook. He was a complete gentleman, and everything I had been looking for, plus so much more. Over the next year and half we spent time enjoying Chicago, and traveling many places. Jimmy even took me to Greece for the first time. In May of 2011 we vacationed in Turks and Caicos, where Jimmy proposed and made all my dreams come true. We are set to be married on November 10, 2012, and cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.Thank you to Eligible Greeks for connecting us, we have since encouraged many friends and familly to find love the same way we did!

First of all let me explain, I thoght I was just wasting my time on another website. Though, I thought let me try to find one of my own. At first, it was just that, no difference. I wouldn’t even respond to some of the flirts. Then I started reading the profiles, and found one that sounded like someone with the same values and upbringings as myself. I decided to contact her. When she reponded to my flirt, our dialog began to grow first through e-mails, then through phone conversations. I then knew I had to meet her. Once I did I knew she truely was the person I had longed to find. Though nothing is ever easy. She was visiting her brother in Texas and realy lived in California. So when it was time for her to return home, we had to make a decision, to either continue a long distance relationship or to end the relationship and remain friends. So we tried the long distance relationship for a while. Though I knew I had to do something to change the situation. I realized I needed her around me all the time not periodicaly. I knew I was only happy when I was around her. I then was able to get a transfer for my job to the bay area. I then picked up my things and followed her across the country. I never made a better decision. I’ve never been happier and I can happily announce we are engaged to be married.

I know you have had other success stories, though for me personally it’s more than a success story. It’s a life saving story. So, let me say thank you. From both of us, Thank you.

We ‘met’ online July 23, 2009. I (Christa) was living in Florida, and Tom lived in New Hampshire. Since I used to live in NH more than 12 years before and my family still lives in NH, I thought we might know each other and I decided to send him a message, ‘just to say hi’. We talked every day for at least 4 hours from that day forward. I had NO intention of moving back to New Hampshire after 12 years of living in the sunshine state and was truly just looking for a friend! I happened to be coming up for a visit to see my family in late August and we decided to meet face to face. We had a 6 hour date at the beach and still, I had NO intention of moving back to NH, although I thought he was very nice and there was definitely a connection there with our backgrounds and strong Greek culture! Long story short, after hours of phone conversations and less than a month of face to face time together, we were engaged the day after Thanksgiving 2009 and were married September 18th, 2010. Thanks EG for bringing us together!
